Merit 80™ furnace versus older furnaces with lower efficiency ratings.
Criteria used in this example are 2,000 full load heating hours, with a
60,000 Btuh heating design load and $.65 ccf for gas. Your actual
savings may vary depending on the weather patterns in your local area,
local fuel rates and your individual lifestyle.
Quality Components
1. DuralokPlus® Heat Exchanger — The heart of the furnace
operates by burning the fuel inside the heat exchanger that warms the
air traveling across the outside of the heat exchanger. Its patented
crimped seam is a Lennox exclusive feature designed to provide longer
life and safe operation.
2. Indoor Air Blower —
Circulating air blower is dynamically
balanced for quieter, more efficient operation, delivering warm, even
comfort.
3. SureLight™ Control Board —
 Patented
"adaptive technology" control module adjusts to ever-changing
conditions for safe, reliable operation by providing just enough energy
to light the burners without overheating the igniter, thereby extending
the igniter life.
 SureLight™
Igniter — Made of Silicon Nitride, a new rugged material that is
much stronger than other hot surface igniters. It's virtually
unbreakable.
Flexible Installation —
Units come in flexible upflow/horizontal
and dedicated downflow configurations to meet application needs in
almost any home.
4. Durable Steel Cabinet —
has a high-quality paint that
keeps the cabinet looking good and it was designed with mitered corners
to make the unit stronger.

Total Home Comfort
Your furnace typically resides inside the home in a variety of
locations. The supply ducts forces warmed air into the home after the
air has traveled cross the heat exchanger. At the same time the return
duct is pulling the cooler air from the home sending it past the heat
exchanger, starting the cycle over again.
